If you’re looking to get rid of stock quickly and efficiently, e-commerce sites like eBay and Amazon are definitely worth considering. There’s a reason they are so popular after all.
You can sell anything
We all seen or heard about the weird and wonderful things that you can buy on eBay or Amazon, but that does not mean that you’re able to sell absolutely anything on there.
Though it may seem like eBay sells everything under the sun, there are definite limits to the range of things that can be sold on it.
Although, don’t worry too much about whether you’re breaking rules by attempting to sell your products; your own common sense should be able to work it out.
The prohibited and restricted items list includes things such as human body parts, human beings, bodily fluids, controlled substances, illegal goods and so on. However, if you really want to make sure, have a look at the official list right here.
It’s difficult
Some people view selling on eBay and Amazon to be difficult; more difficult than fulfilling your own orders. However, those people have got it very wrong!
Both sites have systems in place that aim to make your selling experience run as smoothly as possible. For a small fee, they both handle the majority of customer support tasks which means you don’t have to deal with phone calls or shipping problems, generally making it a lot less hassle for you. Selling is risky (buying too) Similarly, some people see eBay and Amazon to be websites where there’s a risk
Selling is risky
Similarly, some people see eBay and Amazon to be websites where there’s a risk to buying and selling. Whilst, of course, there are some risks to buyers and sellers like scams or hacks, as with any other website, the number of those affected really is minimal.
Just think: if these two websites really were as risky and dangerous as some people interpret them to be, then how have they been going this long? Amazon and eBay are the two most used e-commerce sites in the world after all.
Too much competition
Then there are the people that feel that it’s pointless to join the, already huge, marketplace of well-established or big brand name sellers that eBay and Amazon have accumulated over their years of existence.
Well, we can tell you that that is another false rumour. It might seem quite daunting to enter this huge e-commerce world when there are already millions and millions of sellers on the sites, however, there’s room for more – and always will be.
It’s all about the product
Speaking of making a name for yourself amongst the millions of sellers, here’s another myth for you: it’s all about the product.
Sales of products on eBay and Amazon are not just based on the product itself. You cannot simply list the product to get a quick quid – it’s not a get rich quick scheme! It takes a little more effort than that; listing optimisation and a proper description will set you in good stead for sales.
These things are important if you want to rank high in the search engines – which, obviously, you do. By putting in a bit of time to your listing, your product could be up there on the page when a person types in ‘pink dressing gown’.
There really are so many benefits to selling and re-selling on eBay and Amazon
